Jade grooming tools were popular among the Qing court, and records from the Qianlong era describe the emperor’s admiration for finely carved jade objects used in daily life. Empress Dowager Cixi was also known to commission jade hair ornaments and combs, valuing the stone for its elegance and auspicious symbolism.
